The Long Answer:

In many cultures, foxes are admired for their resourcefulness and cleverness. They are inquisitive problem-solvers, adept at overcoming challenges to achieve their goals. This resonates with my ideals and dedication to finding creative solutions. Foxes also possess a playful spirit and deep connection to their pack. This duality mirrors my own artistic independence and collaborative strength. The fox icon, therefore, becomes a symbol of Cassie Jade’s brand identity - a fusion of cleverness, playfulness and a deep connection.

My design style is story-driven aiming to create work that feels sincere, purposeful and inviting. I love blending structure with playfulness, pairing both the understanding I gained from my background in economics and finance with my creativity. Whether I am designing a visual identity, an illustration, or interactive experience, I focus on evoking emotions and connection.

Projects that explore human emotion, learning or personal growth interest me the most. I love looking at the way people interact with one another, or an idea. I am especially drawn to projects that mix storytelling, education, and design thinking.

I find inspiration in almost everything around me, whether it's through movies, music, journaling, or everyday interactions. I've always been drawn to stories that make me feel something, and I often find myself inspired by the emotions and lessons they carry. Films like Top Gun, Stand and Deliver, Newsies, and The Mighty Ducks remind me of values that I often try to incorporate into my own creative work. Pop culture plays a big role in shaping my visual world, I adore Sailor Moon and Pooh Bear for their warmth and sincerity. I also have a soft spot for quirky mascots like the Zespri Kiwis.

I love hands on activities, being able to create makes me extremely happy. If I'm not drawing for a project, I love indulging myself in other hobbies of mine. I am an avid journal lover, and have been using one since 2019. The medium allows me to express myself outside of my design work, giving me opportunity to not only plan my life but also have creative freedom.

Spending time with loved ones is really important to me, whether I am keeping in contact with them over messages or hanging out in person. Being able to step back and enjoy life is one of the biggest blessings we are given. While I love spending time with my family and friends, I also enjoy the quiet moments by listening to music. One of my favourite pastimes is creating playlists for characters and series I love (I have over 250 playlists on spotify...).

Like many designers, my process is inspired by the Double Diamond and Five Stages of Design Thinking (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test). Using these frameworks ensures structure while allowing room for exploration and creativity.

My economic and finance background allows me to think critically about audience behaviour, systems, and long-term value. While some may see economics as rigid or "boring", I see it as the backbone of how societies function, a framework for understanding people and the choices they make. This type of analytical thinking complements my creativity providing me opportunities to use both sides of my brain.
